Laminar flow work station~

Hello~is me again
todays article gonna be about the famous laminar flow station

A vertical laminar flow workstations are ideal for applications that are not hazardous to the operator but require a clean work area. The compact, light weight design allows for multiple “clean zones” within a laboratory.
The vertical laminar flow workstation provides clean Class 100 laminar flow air for process protection by using a two stage filtration process. Room air is first cleaned with an electrostatically charged prefilter and then further cleaned with a HEPA filter. AirClean Systems vertical laminar flow workstations have been independently certified to meet or exceed applicable clean bench standards.(credits to air-clean system)
1st of all~an overview of a Ultra pure grade SDS 10%
with the laminar flow as our background...

A photo of SDS and laminar flow~i heard that once SDS killed  laminar flow's father..shhh

Gelman class 100 series laminar flow~just in case, gelman is the brand, not a person covered in gel

The is also a laminar flow from a view of a 5 years old child~

Obviously, this laminar flow need power to run~and i have no idea why it needs this

Control panel for fan control, UV, and misc

shinny interior~~

UV tube within the laminar flow

hmmm, what does this do?
please tell me what is this someone~and stand a chance to win a trip to swinburne~~~!!

wahaha...jk

see you next time bye~~~

Micro pipettes ~

 Hello~~everyone
today tour is about micro pipette~

Pipettes are used to accurately measure and dispense small volumes of liquid. The capacity of a micro pipette can range from less than 1µl to 1000µl (1ml), while macro pipettes can measure volumes greater than 1ml.
 and
Today is all about Micro pipettes~~

A array of Micro pipettes ranging from 10 to 1000uL

From right: 10uL, 100uL and 1000uL pipettes, actually they was suppose to be a stand that holds all this pipettes, but this photo was taken at night, and i don't wish to wake them up~
so i just shoot while they were lying down

1000uL micro pipettes
It has a working volume of 100~1000uL, as stated on the top of the pipettes

shhhhhhh.......don't wake them~!!!! they spill acid at you when they wake up

100uL Micro pipettes
As above this pipettes is capable of taking a volume from 10~100uL

1000uL pipette tips
So this is the tips of the 1000uL pipettes~it is usually disposable, and the different in height here is caused by the mixing of different brands~~

and this is another box of pipette tips~also used for 1000uL micro pipettes
(and yes~all large one uses blue color as they represent the large ocean,, i do not made this story up, Brandon told me about it)

Pipette tips for 100uL micro pipettes
AND the yellow one here is used for 100uL pipettes~with a yellow representing the land

so now ~~since the working volume of a blue pipettes is from 100-1000uL
how does it actually works?
easy~just turn the nob above to the a value you desire~
but make it as gentle as possible~they are high fragile and if you really hurt them

they would pee themselves and we all will be in trouble
so now~this one is in 1001uL~~
(which turning a value above 1000  is not recommended, this is just a demonstration. i am not gonna use this pipette at this volume)
Brandon forced me to do this also~!!!

so by turning the nob~~i changes the value to 963uL~~
amazing right?

ok now really..

and next is the yellow pipettes~~which i had change the volume from 100uL to 80uL

OK~that's all for today
and that brandon is the stupid ninja in my last post~
hope you don't kill him
he hasn't been trained

Safety features in the lAb

Scientific lab, is a highly Hazardous.

Thats why, lots of safety features are equipped to protect us from any accident.

1st of all, a large and yellowish bio-hazard sign~just to tell people that you had enter a place of no return.
and of cause, to scare off politician

A friendly reminder to order people that labcoat, covered shoes and safety glasses is needed in the lab
AT ALL TIME

some tips~~~

ok~no food and drink
and i dont think anyone would wanna eat or drink in that kind of environment...

some tissue to wipe up spilled chemical, and a instant hand sanitizer which is not really useful
we always prefer water and soap

a fire blanket for any fire that intent to stay over night at the lab
just to keep them comfy

A fire extinguisher that would chase off any fire that are not willing to pay the hotel fees

A whole body shower. This allow people to wash themselves instantly right after breakfast
we are after all, a 5 star lab
ok~just kidding, this is just for rinsing when acid is spilled on your friend.

seriously, i am no idea what is this

\
A fire tap just in case someone is playing with fire~~

and lots of pipeline for putting off fire~~(at least some of them..)
they are actually nitrogen pipes, compress air pipes and liquid butane pipes here

thats all for today folks
have a nice day
